More details have emerged. Appears to be a political stoush between Russia and Georgia and the work of one person. Still reveals the cracks in Social Media. We should be prepared- like any good scout

That's the other extreme which, thankfully, we would not have to worry about in this country. We could probably go on a rant here about the Patriot Act and all that, sure, but that's not really appropriate for this podcast or for this blog. We still have Freedom of Speech which is a beautiful thing, and that is what I am talking about here: protecting our ability to communicate. Is our government shutting down and policing our technology the answer? Not at all. What I am saying here is that our government should assist our private sectors in the investigation and in being able to prevent such attacks from happening again.

But the incident you refer to, David — yes, that was truly mind boggling. #iranelection all over again....

Don't I remember hearing, during the first week of July 2009, that major news networks made it clear that the government of China effectively shut down twitter servers to help "prevent chaos" during the uprisings between the ethnic groups. Doesn't that just bring out the warm fuzzies in you?
